As a German photographer, I feel a strong connection to the landscape of my own country. Between low mountain ranges, quiet woodland, and rural scenes changing with the seasons, there’s a variety here that might not be as dramatic as the Alpine regions or Norwegian landscapes, but it shines in a different way. It’s a quieter kind of beauty, found in castles scattered across the landscape or a misty sunrise over the moorland, and that’s the side of German landscape photography I love coming back to.
